Serenade

stars

Poem by Ana Marcela Ramírez Cabal

Look at the stardust, notes of it falling,
That cosmic symphony, so sweet and sullen.
Will to lose structure, almost a mother,
Gifting us serenades, easing our struggles.

The universe finds itself cradled in melodies,
Alarm, lullaby, divine intervention.
Asteroids tumble, thunderstorms rumble,
Animals mumble, chess pieces shuffle.

I bask in the dust, life’s rhapsody is fast,
Play carelessly, it comes out dissonant.
Sound knows my soul right from the inside,
Records me in sheets with pensatos and style.
