Alyssa Sykes, Co-Executive Director

Alyssa Sykes is the Co-Executive Director and Founder of SeaGlass. She is an anthropology student in Edmonton, Canada. Some of her work can be found on her Instagram (a_bookworm_writes), and her piece “Life with Letters” in SeaGlass’s Issue 12. Alyssa has a few ongoing novel projects she hopes to someday publish. In her free time she enjoys movies, puzzles, and crafty projects.

Maria Lytrivi, Co-Executive Director

Maria Lytrivi is a pharmacy student and writer based in Athens, Greece. Her work has appeared in various magazines and anthologies with her most recent publication being that of her short story “Kassandra” in the Everlies awards nominated “Dark Legends of The World” anthology by Diania Publications. When not writing she can be found crocheting her own army of dragons.

Caroline Majewski, Marketing Director

Caroline graduated from college from Oakland University with an English degree. She is an avid reader of all genres. Caroline is passionate about all things books, television, music, and film, and is excited to expand her realms of storytelling by exploring complex topics and social issues. She hopes that the writing you read inspires you to feel a little more connected and aware of the world around you, while inspiring you to be your most authentic self.

Sruthi Amalan, Website Manager

Sruthi Amalan (pen name ‘Cypher’) is a self-taught brown and queer Tamil diaspora poet living in Canada. Her work has been featured by the Ontario Poetry Society and is set to appear in the Canadian Syncopation Literary Journal, Queer Gaze Mag and Arcana Poetry Press.

Professionally, she graduated with a Management Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, and specializes in web, graphic, and user experience design.

Outside of writing and design, Sruthi likes to read, draw, spend time with her father and brother, and play board games with her friends. Sruthi released her first poetry chapbook, ‘Where the Clay Meets the Flame,’ in February 2024.

Lily Bastock, Issue Formatter

Lily Bastock daylights as an editor, twilights as a writer, and moonlights as a book goblin. Her focus oscillates between high fantasy and the high seas. Following her master’s in creative writing, she’s been the Runner-Up for The Plentitudes Prize and a Finalist for the Fabuly Writing Challenge, and has also been longlisted for several other contests.

Kiara Aggarwal, Journal Director and Submissions Director

Kiara Aggarwal (she/her) is a high school sophomore from India who writes like she’s clawing at the walls of society. A loner by choice and conviction, she is unapologetic and restless, believing in tearing down hierarchy with words that sting, seduce, and refuse to behave. Her work lives in the chaos of cities, the grit of metro rides, and the sharp edges of fashion as rebellion. Drawn to raw realism, indie expression, and the mess of being young in a world that demands perfection, she thrives in solitude, where her defiance sharpens and her voice grows louder.

Josie Miller, Threads Manager

Josie is a young writer, journalist and university student from the United Kingdom. She has been published in several award winning student and indie magazines. Her friend’s would describe her as bold, authentic and forward thinking.

Ahmad Morid, Art Director

Ahmad Morid is an 18 year old self taught poet, artist and screenwriter from Afghanistan. His inspirations come from the calmness of everyday life and Persian poetry. If he’s not working on his craft he’s either watching movies or journalling.

Akshara Nair, Human Resources Director

Akshara Nair (she/her) is a student of Master’s in Industrial and Organisational Psychology. She has and continues to contribute extensively to the fields of publication, arts, mental health, and psychology. Akshara is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Tajurba | Experience, an international e-zine, and also works remotely with other global magazines in editorial and training roles. Her background includes experience in management coordination, human resources and project management. These roles have contributed significantly in shaping her people-first approach and communication skills. She aspires to work collaboratively with global organizations and foster a new understanding of arts, languages, mental health and psychology.
